PARKERSBURG — Aqueous Furthermore 2022, an exhibit of the West Virginia Watercolor Modern society that contains the perform of a regional artist, opens Friday and runs as a result of June 7 at the Parkersburg Artwork Centre.

The show will be composed of a few galleries and three reveals.

A reception will be held at 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Art Heart. Award winners will be posted on the WVWS site immediately after the opening. Admission is free for the reception.

The opening reception coincides with the Garden Occasion themed open home in the Artwork Center’s new reward shop, PAC 713 Market place.

Gallery One particular will characteristic “Aqueous 2022.” Awards of from $2,300 to $2,800 will be granted for the Most effective of Exhibit, Awards of Excellence, Awards of Merit and Honorable Mentions. Forty-7 paintings have been accepted from several submissions produced in a drinking water-based aqueous fashion. Submissions came from artists from Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.

Gallery Two will element “Signature Present: Work by the West Virginia Watercolor Society Signature Members” on display screen. A single award is readily available, the People’s Preference Award, which will be made the decision by in-person votes tallied at close of the exhibition.

Gallery 3 is “The Jose Rizo Collection” composed mostly of early 20th century art, Ashcan Artwork, Regionalist and WPA linked artwork. In the selection, all artwork media is represented, from watercolors and oils to pastels, drawings, and etchings. This artwork resonates with collection holder Jose Rizo because of its realness, its modernity, and its grit. Artwork that evokes a minute in time, a feeling, or a memory, and with no need to have to gloss over or beautify the depiction of it, artwork that displays life how it really is, and not how it really should be, is artwork that is real and gorgeous.

Christine Rhodes is the Parkersburg region entrant juried into “Aqueous Moreover 2022” for “Stay the Course” and “River of Desires.”

The juror is Laurie Goldstein-Warren. Initially from New York, Goldstein-Warren lives in the vicinity of Buckhannon. She is a signature member of the American Watercolor Modern society and Clear Watercolor Modern society of The us and is a well-known workshop presenter in the United States.
